Gutsweine

Our Gutsweine

It’s only logical: Gutsweine are good wines

Gutswein is just the right wine if you are looking for a good down-to-earth wine. A good wine – exactly! Straight forward and without circumstances, just fill your glass and enjoy. Together with your meal or just solo, in pairs or with a bunch of friends, with your sandwich or a quick lunch.

The Cistercian wine-growing estate offers wines in three classifications: Lagenweine – our finest wines from one single vineyard site, Ortsweine – our high-quality wines, influenced by the typical local terroir, and Gutsweine – our wines grown in the estate’s own vineyards. All three of them excellent wines from the Rheinhessen region – each sip a pleasure trip. That’s what makes the difference: terroir, grapes, availability.

Our Lagenweine – our finest wines from one single vineyard site

Deep clay is our highest value

Manifold, well-balanced: Sounds good? We agree with that. Deep clay soils, lime stone, clay loam soil, and iron ore, just to name a few: Our vineyards with their different soil types stretch over the best vineyard sites of the Rheinhessen region. That’s reason enough to meet our superior wines.

Our Ortsweine – our high-quality wines, influenced by the typical local terroir

You can’t bottle wine without receiving compliments

Viticulture is craftsmanship. With our well-known German FingerspitzengefĂĽhl, namely tact and sensitivity, we meticulously take care of what is predetermined by our local nature. Very nicely done, by the way: Nature has done an excellent job. When we bottle our Cistercian Ortsweine, we always add a bit of the Rheinhessen region, the Wonnegau area, and of our village HeĂźloch. What does it taste like? The best way to find out – just try it!
